Autumn is in the air and with the holidays just around the corner, we decided to dedicate our Local Spotlight to one of our favorite and delectable destinations: Blackbird Bakery!
Blackbird Bakery has been serving up delicious treats and coffee for nearly twenty years and is hands down a favorite hangout for locals and visitors alike. They use local growers and purveyors when possible to craft unforgettable pastries, pies and tarts, bread, seasonal cakes and more. Right now, they have a spooky collection of treats and harvest-inspired goodies that will make your taste buds sing.
Blackbird also serves a mean cup of coffee—so good that Islanders brave long lines for one—with beans brewed by Seattle’s Herkimer Coffee Roasting Company. A few of our favorite items include the buttery cherry mezzaluna, a crisp piece of toast, and their seasonal soups and quiches. They also provide gluten-free and vegan options for those who need them!
Whenever we have a birthday, anniversary or baby shower, Blackbird is our go-to destination, with a fun and delicious creation to impress all guests. As their website outlines, their goal “is to be a source of comfort and happiness to our community with product and service that is the result of artistry in both heart and mind” — a mantra that shines through in every visit.
