Local Spotlight: Bainbridge Gardens
Fall is officially here and we are celebrating the start of the season by shining a Local Spotlight on one of our favorite local destinations: Bainbridge Gardens!
Bainbridge Gardens is a family-owned business with a six-acre nursery filled with a variety of plants, garden art, and more. They celebrate their 60th year in Bainbridge Island business this year, starting as a small florist at Town and Country Market in Winslow and growing into their current location down Highway 305 in 1989.
We love to pop into New Rose Café for a cup of coffee and bite to eat. The café is open most of the year but does close from Christmas through February 1st. They offer in and outdoor seating options with a selection of salads, sandwiches, pizza and more, with a play area for the kiddos.
Bainbridge Gardens teaches a range of classes for all ages in the Northwest Greenhouse. Some of their upcoming courses include a Bonsai Workshop on Saturday, October 6th at 1pm and a “Little Sprouts Activity” to make a small bird feeder on the 21st at 11am. Classes are complemented by a number of events, including the 25th Annual Pumpkin Walk, which will be held on October 12th and 13th from 6 to 8pm. Entertainment includes a trail of pumpkins, bounce house, harvest maze, live music, photos, carnival games and more. Proceeds benefit the Bainbridge Island Boys and Girls Club.
The Holiday Open House is another event we always look forward to, which will be held on Saturday, November 10th from 9am to 5:30pm this year. Looking even further ahead, you may want to mark your calendar for an “After Hours” Christmas Shopping Event on December 6th from 6 to 8pm.
