Local Spotlight: Churchmouse Yarns & Teas
In the spirit of the chilly season—and in anticipation of the coming holidays—we want to highlight one of our favorite stores on Bainbridge Island: Churchmouse Yarns & Teas. This lovely shop is stocked with luxurious yarns, comforting teas, and everything you need to get your knit on!
Whether you’re an Islander or looking to plan a weekend visit, Churchmouse is easy to get to. It’s located in the center of the village on Madrone Lane, nestled behind another of our local favorites, Blackbird Bakery (a short, 10-minute stroll from the ferry terminal). They are open daily from 10am to 6pm and until 8pm on Thursdays.
Tea drinkers will delight in a wide arrange of leaves, from traditional brews of English Breakfast and Chamomile Herbal, to the adventurous flavors of Cacao Mint. Right now, we are loving the Harney & Sons Cranberry Autumn Tea with a touch of Bee Local Honey Syrup—it’s delicious!
Churchmouse offers a range of educational opportunities, from drop-in circles and healthy handwork habits to kits knitting and charity circles. Browse the calendar and sign up for some knitting fun here.
It’s already gift knitting season at Churchmouse, and they’ve put together some fabulous holiday gift-giving ideas on their website and in the shop. To help you prepare for the hustle and bustle of the season, we’re excited to announce that if you visit Churchmouse from November 14th to November 21st and mention that you read our blog, the shop will give you a free pattern of your choice! (Limit 1 per customer, see store for details).
