Lytle Beach: A lot of Fun- Shh! It's a secret though!
People often ask me about beaches on the Island. I usually list the obvious ones- Faye Bainbridge State Park, Fort Ward, Point White/Pleasant Beach, Crystal Springs etc. What I sometimes forget about, even for myself, is Lytle Beach. This small public access "road end" is located at the end of Lytle Road. Lytle Road is a residential street off of Pleasant Beach Drive. There is limited parking but if you hit it at the right time, you will be rewarded with a fantastic beach in a little cove of Rich Passage. I recently had the pleasure of a glorious sunny day on July 4th to lounge on the beach and take in the amazing views. I even tried a little Stand Up Paddleboarding! I'm waiting for the next 80 degree day to try it again, although, maybe I should lower that threshold to 75?
