Grand Old Fourth was a HIT!
This was Bainbridge Island's 50th Annual Grand Old Fourth of July Celebration and boy was it a success! We always celebrate big and this year was no exception.
Our sweet little town is always filled with festive energy and excitement for this event - rain or shine. We were all so happy to welcome the sun and warm weather as we watched the mile long Hometown Parade. This year showcased more than 100 units - floats, marching bands, bagpipes, horses, dogs, sports teams, military units, local non-profs and businesses. It was a sight and a joyous event.
I especially loved Calico Cat's display with the balloon animals! Jake's Pickup had a pretty cool float, as well. Really, everyone did such a great job with creativity and just showing up! My assistant, Heather Smith joined me at our office to watch the parade and passersby and then I went home to make an American Flag cake to take to a BBQ where I ended the night with fireworks over the water. What a great day!
Pre fireworks sky. The mountain is out and the moon is already making an appearance. Ahhhh.....the beauty here is never lost on me.
The night went out with a bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
